Following passion and inspiration since 1988

Growing up in Maine, with a busy family who worked hard and dreamed of travel but rarely if ever could, left much to the imagination. It fostered a lust for adventure and new experiences in places i’d only heard of and saw in books and magazines and I became obsessed with doing as many new things and going as many new places as I could as soon as possible.

This enthusiasm for life and doing it in my own way was influenced heavily, especially in the area of creatively expressing myself as an individual, and fostering and conveying my unique way of thinking, by having been educated at a Waldorf school until 9th grade. we learned through extensive time outdoors, allowed to learn as children, the beauty of nature and exploration as well as exploration of the mind and ones unique way of learning and gifts to give to the world.

I was also very lucky to have a passionate family with a great love for experience, the never ending process of learning and being enthusiastic and engaged in whatever you choose to do in life. I was particularly lucky to have a Grandfather who was extraordinarily passionate about life and who spread that passion to me through the sorts of things as sailing, learning how airplanes, automobiles, boats, cameras and computers work, the deep history behind all of those things and the countless lives of dedicated obsession lived by people to create the versions of these things we live with today. But the most impactful of these passions he shared with me was Photography and how to capture emotion or an idea in an image and then develop or fine tune it into the perfect version of itself to illicit the exact sought for reaction.

In the last fifteen years I have experienced and lived all sorts of different lives. All out of intention and all leading me back to putting my full focus on film making and telling stories through writing, photos and video. I have lived so many lives over the last 15 years, from wildland firefighting to backpacking Hawaii, Peru, Europe and America, to Sailing across the Atlantic at the spur of the moment, to running Snowcats at Vail and Breckenridge Colorado, to a career in Logging and Arborist work including helping cut the 2015 FIS world cut downhill course at Beaver Creek, to helping a company get off the ground researching, designing and building high end camper vans built for mobile adventure. All of them diversely contributing critical elements of personal development and a set of transferable skills which are all drawn from in the pursuit of developing my skills and knowledge in the world of film making and story telling.

I have begun shooting all that I can and creating passion projects of my own to further my obsession with creating engaging videos that tell important and moving stories of human experience. I have made a number of travel and sports centered videos to hone my skills in image composition, editing, timing and conveying emotion. As well as created a few short commissioned videos for companies showcasing their scope of work and capabilities. I am currently working to finish a short BASE jumping Documentary which will be my first “project with a point.” I am also in the process of doing all I can to gain more professional video projects and work in any way possible and thusly improving not only my portfolio and skill level but quality of gear and level of efficiency in the creative process.
